Muerza
is one of the oldest Rioja Bodegas established in Haro in 1882 by Felipe
Ugarde. As the Rioja Vega brand was registered in 1921, before the
control board existed, they are permitted to use the term Rioja on the
brand.
A new winery was built in 2001/02 in the town of Viana, 10km away from Logrono, capital of the Rioja region. 100 hectares of vineyards are planted predominantly with Tempranillo and a little Graciano. . |
