In 1959 Demetrio Zema arrived in Coonawarra from Italy with a dream to establish his own vineyard and produce his own wines.

The dream became reality when in 1982 together with his wife Francesca and sons, Matt and Nick, they purchased one of the finest parcels in the very heart of Coonawarra.

From an original purchase of some 20 acres the estate has grown to 150 acres, worth an outstanding reputation for quality.
